“First, nothing… Then… Everything!”
The Ultramega and the Kaiju spring into existence at the dawn of the universe, seemingly destined from the beginning to be the hero and the terror of the cosmos. Their fights shape galaxies, destroy stars.
And then, they are gone, their energy dispersed once again.
It is primeval humanity who will encounter them again.
The Kaiju, returning and discovering ways to corrupt human forms into their vessels. The Ultramega, taking these same vessels to create a means of protection against the Kaiju.
The fight continues on.
In contemporary times, it’s been nearly 20 years since Kaiju were last recorded. They’re just propaganda stories for doomsday cults. They’re not a real threat to anything anymore.
Don’t tell that to the Kaiju King, very much alive if not well, dwelling in outside the walls of the old city. He would see the Kaiju come back and continue their conquest of humanity.
But a boy named Noah sees a very different future. Growing up in the ruins, he’s never known a life outside of this place. He was taken in as a baby by a couple doing their best to survive. He itches for something beyond crumbling rest stops and empty batteries and annual food drops.
Despite all instructions to the contrary, he takes out a drone to fight the Kaiju followers. He may not believe that the Kaiju are still around, but he knows the cult following them is dangerous.
He is a careless fighter, though. His bravado ends in the death of one of the Kaiju fighters, violating the treaty between the Kaiju followers and the rest of the humans in the ruins cruelly named Avalon. His recklessness could ruin all of Avalon, until one of them steps up to identify Noah and his drone as the violence behind the Kaiju death. He is arrested and transported back to the Kaiju encampment.
It looks like whether he genuinely wanted to or not, Noah will be fighting the Kaiju in person next time.
