Man, this has been a truly great series.
Writer Tom King and artist Jorge Fornes have been knocking it out of the park with this one. It only seems to be getting better and better. Each issue builds on the last and we are headed towards a really explosive last few chapters.
This issue focuses on the deeds of Wil Myerson. He is the creator of Pontius Pirate, which is the most popular comic in the history of this world. He is also the one who dressed up as Rorschach and tried to commit an assassination as this series began. But he is also much more than that as we slowly have learned.
Myerson is also a master manipulator.
We have seen some of those manipulations come to fruition. He has recruited other artists into his ideas. Or has he? Was it really his number one fan Laura who is manipulating Myerson? Just who is doing what to who?
We get to see the detective ask these questions in this issue. We also get to see him try to figure out exactly what is going on with that tape. Evidence starts to mount. Things get crazy. And it all leads to one hell of an ending that really threw me for a complete loop.
Tom King writes another amazing script here. It’s his best work in a career that keeps just getting better. The artwork by Jorge Fornes is just consistently incredible. I love his work and it keeps developing as well.
This is just another brilliant issue. Well done.
