‘Catwoman #29’ (review)

Written by Ram V.
Art by Fernando Blanco
Published by DC Comics

I was interested to see where they might take this title after the Future State story. It had been limping along before and I was hoping that it would improve.

And it has, but only slightly. This feels a bit like the same old stuff after the few pages. I was hoping for a bit more than that.

Selina Kyle has been trying to take control of Alleytown.

It has been going pretty well up until now too!

Then, a seemingly new villain makes his way onto the scene. This new villain throws a big wrench into Selina’s plans.

We get to see a bit of this of this villain at the beginning of the book.

Who are they? What do they want? They are extremely good at their job. It seems like Selina is on a collision course with this bad guy.

We get to see first Selina by the pool. She is having a bit of relaxation. It isn’t long before she is face to face with this new villain.

They have a nice fight scene which is the best part of the issue. Artist Fernando Blanco really cuts loose and it is a joy to see this happen.

The story by Ram V. just isn’t that interesting. I wish it was. It feels like we have seen this type of story before and maybe we have.

But it doesn’t go to any place really new or interesting. It just is kind of boring.

And that’s the worst thing of all.

RATING: B-
