Everyone should know by now of my love for the DC Ink line of books. They are doing a great job at the imprint of making some unique and relatable stories, especially for a younger audience.
This is another fine book from that line and it continues it’s stamp of excellence for sure.
The story opens up on Krypton.
We see a bunch of young people walking. A man screams at them that they are being lied to and that Krypton is dying. That man is captured and brought to a “court system” of sorts.
That is when a young man named Zahn comes to the defendant’s side to vouch for him.
It turns out that Zahn is a member of Krypton’s elite. He is also a future leader in the making. We get to see Zahn and learn about his life. We also get to meet Sera, who is one of Krypton’s best soldiers.
The rules of Krypton are that Zahn and Sera are never to cross paths.
So, you know that the whole story is leading to just that: These two crossing paths.
But that is just the tip of the iceberg. Groundquakes are happening. Rebellions are rising. And it is starting to look like the only way Krypton is to survive is for Zahn and Sera join forces. But is all of this going to be too late?
Man, the story here is strong.
Claudia Gray has dusted off these old characters and breathed new life into them, while creating strong new personalities.
The art is perfect too for this. It is another strong book in the DC Ink line. I enjoyed this very much, just like the others!
