I am really enjoying this revival of this title. I have always loved this series from the very beginning, but this series has made the whole concept pretty fresh. I love the story and it only seems to be getting better and better. You really can’t ask for more than that.
In this issue, the rogue branches of the VMS come together.
They have all of the coordinates and locations that they need at the ready. They have a plan for a mission.
What is that mission? Well, it is perhaps the hardest one of all.
It is a mission to destroy the Beast once and for all.
But can they?
That certainly seems to be a looming question in this issue.
They are all looking to correct history and head on out for a journey.
During this journey, we get to see the main characters deal with demons from their past. Some are more successful at it than others.
Meanwhile, at the White House, the Gray Man is putting the screws in for his mission.
If he is successful, the world may just plunge into darkness. Things are looking pretty grim. The issue itself ends on one hell of a dark note as well.
Snyder is killing it on the script. The story is dark and brutal, yet every character is well developed. The artwork is definitely Albuquerque’s best. It is a really strong book overall and I can’t wait to see where all of this is leading.
