Well, here we go.
This is the last issue of this miniseries, although I think this book has enough in it for a few more chapters.
Writer Mark Russell and artist Steve Pugh have created one heck of a unique book and it feels like it still has some legs and some stories to tell.
There was a devastating series of events that occurred on the island last issue. This issue starts up with the characters trying to pick up the pieces.
Reporter Shelley Bly finds herself trying to escape off the island.
That being said, she is also facing a moral choice.
Shelley, Trent and the others know the truth behind the island. We see that what they know can destroy the island.
The moral choice they have decided to make is to tell the entire world about it.
They decide to do this and to get the word out.
If they can, it will change everything.
Things get wild. There is a lot of action but there is also a lot of resolution.
The climax is fantastic and I love how it all wraps up, yet it also leaves things sort of open ended. Russell writes a great script here that is witty and also pointed.
The art by Steve Pugh is great. He does his best work on this title and it shows. Together with Russell, they create a really great comic book here. The story is great and the art is superb.
I can’t wait to see what they cook up next.
