‘Suicide Squad #8’ (review)

Written by Tom Taylor
Art by Daniel Sampere
Published by DC Comics

Writer Tom Taylor and his teams of artists have given the world my favorite iteration of the Suicide Squad in at least a few years. It is what the title should be: fast funny, and a little bit gruesome. It has been a really fun time thus far on their exuberant run.

The Suicide Squad arrive at El Rucio at the beginning of the issue. It is the flying base of the Revolutionaries. These jokers escaped from the Suicide Squad previously.

Well, the Squad is back to take them out! Thus, the fun begins.

We get to see the Suicide Squad forming a plan.

Then, they get right to it. They have recently taken out the bombs out of their necks and the

Revolutionaries have something they want. This leads to a whole mess of fighting.

Things get crazy! With the bombs out of their necks, the Squad members are left without their leashes. So the fighting is great. But the action does lead to some quieter moments.

By the end of the issue, we get a glimpse as to where we are headed.

Taylor does a great job of giving us all a fresh spin on these characters. He really nails the characters and their emotions, and he even gives them some new qualities. The art is good in this issue and has been solid throughout.

All in all, this is another fine issue in this run.

RATING: B+
