This book has been getting crazier and crazier with each issue. I have been getting more and more into it with each passing page.
Writer Joshua Williamson and artist David Marquez are one hell of a creative team. In this issue, they take the excitement up to a new level.
This is some really great stuff!
Batman and Superman are in the fight of their lives as this issue begins. The Batman Who Laughs is wrecking havoc everywhere and the dynamic duo are having a hard time.
That villain has turned some of the characters, like Commissioner Gordon, into dark beings. The fight does get rather intense.
Batman and Superman regroup and try to catch their breath. They try to formulate a plan to stop the madness that has infected their world. It isn’t long before they are brutally attacked again. Things look completely hopeless! That is when Supergirl arrives to save the day. And not a moment too soon!
It isn’t long however before Supergirl is infected by the Batman Who Laughs. The last panel is a complete delight. Marquez does a great job on the art in general, and the last page alone may in fact be the best work he has ever done. It is creepy, dark, and really fun.
The tone of the book is great. I love what Williamson is doing here. It is a lot better than most of the Batman and Superman team-ups. The story is well done and I have no idea where the heck we are going from here.
And that really is the best feeling of all!
